I write about stress and health. When one goes up, the other goes down.

It's okay that you are wrestling with difficult times.

It's okay that you are facing difficult thoughts and emotions.

Know that you are strong.

Know that you will get through this.
Three Ways to Reduce Stress

1. Leave room for quiet - It is only in quiet that we can rest and heal

2. Leave room for growth - Look back and notice how often the little things in your life turned out to be the big things you miss the most; give those little things an opportunity to grow

Take time to integrate your life experiences.

You have been through ups and downs. Good times and bad. What have you learned from all these?

How will your life change?

Learn from your experiences, rather than ignore them. Find a new path. Take a new direction.

You might surprise yourself.

Pruning is a normal part of life.

Imagine that your life is a garden. You have planted many seeds and watered many plants. When the garden gets too crowded, you have to cut back somewhere to encourage healthy growth.

What part of life will you prune today?

What wilted leaves will be snipped off?

We all need a break from social media from time to time.

It's not healthy to be too emotionally invested in the personas that people share in public.

Consider taking the rest of the day off as a social media sabbatical.

After you like this post, of course.

Following up on yesterday's post, if you are looking for a free and dead-simple exercise to help lower your blood pressure, Adam Story, D.C., has a detailed how-to video on planking with proper form.

How long can you go in good form? For me, around 30 seconds.

I watched an intriguing interview between Ben Azadi and Mark Young about the causes of high blood pressure.

This interview started strong with a discussion about the connection between sugar consumption and the sodium levels you will see in your lab work.

Here is a deep thought for a Monday: It’s safe to rest.

Your worth is not measured by your productivity.

Spend some time outside to contemplate the beauty in the world.

Have you tried grounding yet?

Focus on the sensation of your bare feet touching the ground.

Close your eyes.

Feel centered and connected to the present moment.

It's how we were meant to live.

It's okay to not be okay.

It's okay to rest.

It's okay to feel sad without trying to fix it immediately.

Healing isn't a project with a deadline.

It's a process with its own timing.

Feeling overwhelmed today?

Sunday is a day of rest, but there is no guarantee that you will enjoy it.

Your breakdown might actually be a breakthrough in disguise.

Sometimes we have to fall apart to make room for who we're becoming.

Loving-kindness practice for hard days

Send love first to someone who is easy to love, and then to yourself:

May I be safe,
may I be peaceful,
may I be kind to myself,
may I accept this moment as it is.
