Having deployed 3x to the ME, I view this a horrible mistake. We have absolutely no business being there, and if it weren’t for oil, we wouldn’t be. Christians especially should be opposed to this, but alas, most of them are locked arms with the empire.

When people react to a mass shooting local to them, they used to frequently say things like "I never imagined this would happen in____"

This is the second shooting in the past year where I felt that sentiment.

We have a gun problem in our country.

I'm really glad I didn't join the Texas National Guard. I seriously considered it at one time. The benefits are unbeatable, but so are the moral conflicts.

If I've learned anything from my study of the Bible, it is God's repeated call to defend those who the culture dehumanizes.

There is no defense for this, especially from a Christian perspective.

The military is highly affective in training individuals to disconnect themselves and others from their humanity. With that in mind, it is no surprise when they commit heinous crimes. There's a better way!

For those standing in opposition to occupations of US cities, I’m with you 100%!

But the only thing new is the geographic location. We did far worse in Iraq, and many other countries.

That’s why I m uncompromising in my belief that there’s no place for Christians in volunteer militaries.

I see people laughing off this rapture prediction. Yes, it seems silly, but I spent several years in fear over almost exactly this. That fear memorably peaked when I was 8; a few times I literally thought Jesus was coming.
