Professor Kathryn @bowleslab.bsky.social just presented her interesting work on profiling the impact of 4R tau on mitochondrial health and microtubule stability in organoids. She showed that different mutations increase 4R but differ in neuronal vulnerability and mitochondrial dysfunction #NHND25

Some of his key findings include:
• GRN LOF→ microglial overactivation and lysosomal failure
• Lysosomal failure → microglial degeneration eventually worsening neuropathology
