Meet our editorial board member, Christopher Larimer

Christopher Larimer is a professor of political science at the University of Northern Iowa, where he also serves as Program Coordinator for the Master of Public Policy.

We are grateful for Dr. Blessett’s contributions to JPAE and to the broader public administration community.

she taught high school health and life skills before pursuing her doctorate at Old Dominion University. Her dissertation, “Dispersion or Re-segregation,” established the foundation for her ongoing work on public policy, urban mobility, and racial equity.

Meet our editorial board member, Brandi Blessett, Ph.D.

Dr. Blessett is an associate professor in the leadership and management area at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota.

Her contributions have been honored with major awards such as the SPALR Mary Guy Lifetime Impact Award, the Marcia P. Crowley Award, the Keith G. Provan Award, the Nesta Gallas Award, the Paul van Riper Award,

Mary earned her PhD and MA in Psychology from the University of South Carolina, an MA in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Florida, and a BA in Psychology from Jacksonville University.

She has held leadership roles across several universities, including serving as department head at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and holding the Jerry Collins Eminent Scholar Chair at Florida State University.

Her scholarship explores public administration, democratic governance, emotional labor, access and quality in service delivery, and the impact of gender in public institutions.

She is a past President of the American Society for Public Administration and is widely recognized for shaping how we understand the emotional demands of public service work.

Meet our editorial board member, Mary E. Guy, Ph.D.

Dr. Guy is a University of Colorado Distinguished Professor and a Fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration.

He loves teaching, mentoring students, and exploring the connections between science, society, and public service. Outside academia, he enjoys painting, hiking, paddling, meditating, and world music.

Chris has authored and edited influential books and published more than 70 peer-reviewed articles.

His work focuses on governance networks, complex systems, community resilience, sustainability, and justice. He has led major projects funded by the NSF, multiple federal agencies, and national foundations.

Before joining KU, he spent many years at the University of Vermont, where he led the MPA program and founded the university’s Office of Engagement. He is also a Fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration.

Chris is the Edwin O. Stene Distinguished Professor of Public Administration, Policy and Governance at the University of Kansas. He holds a PhD in Interdisciplinary Social Science and an MPA from Syracuse University.

Meet our editorial board member: Dr. Beth Rauhaus

Dr. Beth Rauhaus is the Department Head and Professor of Political Science, as well as the Anthony Moroux/BORSF Memorial Endowed Professor in Political Science.

In 2016, Dr. Sadiq (as principal investigator) and a co-researcher were awarded a National Science Foundation grant to explore ways to strengthen community resilience to floods.
