Unless we do something...in the future, students of "The Union of American States" will be taught by State approved instruction how journalism was "saved" on this date and it will be remembered as the "the joyous birth of the revitalization of the 1A, and our White Christian culture as a people".

What is there to "uphold"? It is part of the 14th amendment. Once proposed and ratified under Article 5, it is part of the constitution and "The Law of the Land". SCOTUS's only option is to use it as a standard for other laws. They cannot "uphold" it; they can only follow it.
