The Crucial Role of ID Verification in the Digital Economy
At its core, ID verification tools prove your information – name, address, age, phone number – is valid and linked to you. Many different technologies can be used to achieve that one goal. The author,...

Identity confidence is too important to be controlled by corporate platforms alone. We need a solution parents can rely on—for ourselves, our families, and our children. @safety.bsky.app

Your identity isn’t granted by some authority —it’s yours by existence, not by approval or review—you carry it, you are it, it's singular and soul-bound by nature, your digital self is in the history of activity among connections only you own.
June 14, 2025 at 7:32 PM
Owning your identity means you grant or revoke access at will—no reviews or disputes, just portable proof of identity that lives and evolves with you. Platforms change, but you remain yourself as you move from friendster to myspace to Facebook, your digital self always is, and remains, genuine.

Fraud is economically impractical with TruAnon because properties are soul-bound to one owner and can’t be duplicated or revalidated, making repeated attacks costly and futile. Fraudsters risk immediate exposure, losing all forged or stolen data. This dynamic deters fraud, making it unsustainable.

Being the IDENTITY bouncer at the door means you become the bottleneck, the risk, and the one everyone wants to bypass. The one to blame for disputes, failed reviews and negative experiences.
June 6, 2025 at 2:47 PM
Being the "identity authority" makes your platform the risk, you decide who's in the exclusive club—you are now targeted by fraudsters and burdened with responsibility. Let people prove themselves instead, the responsibility lies with the rightful owner, the individual.

no authority or review is needed—we all have our own digital identity already, defined by the links and profiles we want others to know us by

Being responsible for your identity means it can’t be stolen, only proven

Authority is risk; ownership is safety. Let people hold their own identity and the world builds trust naturally.

When platforms act as the identity authority, they inherit every risk: fraud, abuse, and reputational damage. Here, members bring their own proof and avoid the risks that damage your brand and destroy your reputation.

Privacy is yours to control. With one switch, you can instantly turn off any links to properties displayed to your profile, ensuring that nothing visible is directly accessible —No Stalking!
May 25, 2025 at 2:01 PM
Identity now belongs to the individual. Instead of applying for approval, people validate their own digital footprint—profiles, websites, social links, corporate or university email, it’s all publicly known and already in use.

When identity returns to the individual, authority is no longer a gate—it becomes a mirror
May 23, 2025 at 5:25 PM
TruAnon protects identity by removing the need for traditional, static IDs and instead uses dynamic, user-controlled, decentralized identity systems. By tying properties (like social media profiles or school records) to a "soul-bound" identity that only the user can control.
May 21, 2025 at 3:15 PM
Exactly. When verify is private, coercive, or risky—avoidance is rational. But when it's self-controlled, risk-free, and benefits the user, then avoidance signals misalignment. In TruAnon, beneficial verify means there's no logical reason to avoid it—so when someone does, it reveals intent.
May 21, 2025 at 3:13 PM
Avoiding beneficial verify is a red flag because it signals an intent to avoid transparency. In a system where people bring their own proof, choosing not to validate when it's simple, visible, and self-controlled, exposes bad faith. Fraud thrives in darkness—verify turns on the light.
May 21, 2025 at 3:12 PM
Every property is locked to one owner—permanently. Fraudsters can’t reuse, resell, or recycle identity. Once caught, it’s gone. To try again, they’d have to fake everything new, every time, in public view—under constant oversight. That’s time, effort, exposure, and no return. Too risky, too costly.
May 21, 2025 at 3:01 PM
Being Authority is the risk. Transferring Ownership back to the rightful owner, is the solution.
The internet’s biggest liability is centralized identity.
Every platform that verifies you becomes a target.
Every system that stores your identity becomes a bottleneck.

Trust is more reliable when based on verified properties and continuous engagement, not a one-time ID check
