Dr Assal Rad—

"This story is getting barely any media coverage, which is why Israel returned the bodies with signs of torture.

"Didn’t even try to cover it up because they knew they didn’t have to."

Acting like there's a correct way to read and own books is what misses the point completely 😐

A Palestinian father reunited with his daughter today after 20 years of separation following his freedom from Israeli prisons.
Really good video from Democracy Now on the Peace Nobel! It was the closest they could get to giving it to Trump without losing face, and it is already being used to legitimize war in Latin America www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYAS...

Some weirdo on Twitter has been absolutely melting down for like 36 straight hours because I posted:

When this is over, do not forget what ICE did, and what ICE is. And do not make room for them in society. Make sure they know that they are, and will continue to be, reviled and beneath contempt.

Within Italy, individual historic city states are recognizing Palestine; I was there for the Florentine Republic recognizing it this September, announced from the Palazzo Vecchio. Powerful seeing the old granular polities still using their strength. Cities are REAL in a powerful way. (See Alt Text)
Photo of Florence’s historic Palazzo Vecchio, seat of the republic. You can see Michelangelo’s David standing in front of it. Gathered in front are people in the historic red & white livery of the city, and many men in the red T-shirts of the “Republic of 1530” the organization that runs our city Florence’s historic festivals, named for the last pre-ducal/conquest iteration of Florence’s republic. I wish I had a pic with the Mayor and the pro-Palestine banner they hung on the balcony but I don’t. I forget if the Archbishop was there in person or just some priests, but the solidarity was big. I think the Parte Guelfa was there too.

That's what we love to see at Isha! ❤️
One year ago, I attended my first @isha-international.bsky.social seminar in Lodz, feeling inspired to share my research ideas and connect with historians all around Europe. This year, I'm organizing the ISHA Winter seminar in Riga, fully inspired and looking forward to seeing your applications!

Criticism of biased media coverage of Gaza is often discarded as baseless..

so we set out to study the coverage of Palestinian and Israeli victims by German press systematically!

The resulting study 'Hierarchies in Death' was just published #OA by Peacebuilding www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....
