Key messages are that patients appreciated:

👉 One in 10 Australians had asked ChatGPT a health question in the first half of 2024.

👉 This proportion was higher for people who had low health literacy, were born in a non-English speaking country and spoke another language at home.

Generative AI is clearly here to stay, and people in our communities will need new AI health literacy skills to use this technology safely. Our new study looked at who is using ChatGPT to answer health questions, and for what purposes.
