Just learned, someone I wasn't very fond of, committed suicide 1 year ago today.

I'm sorry for the pain his family and friends are feeling on the anniversary of his death...

I didn't like the man, at all, but I am sad to hear he thought he had no other choice.

Went to therapy today, and talked through contradictions. Things that seem odd, considering certain parts of myself.

At least, that is what stuck with me.

Now, I'm home and all the various personal contradictions I have are swirling around inside my head.

Might need to journal some of this later.

Just got my truck back from the mechanic.

They were... Not able to find the issue, so I just have to keep driving it till the issue gets worse, and the mechanic can replicate it, or it gets bad enough to throw an engine code.

Either way I'll continue to be driving with anxiety.

Normally, on this day, I'd watch V for Vendetta. A movie I've watched yearly for a very long time. A movie that once seemed like fiction and now feels like reality.

So, my advice, find an extroverted friend, who has no fear talking to complete strangers, and let them punt people in your direction. Works well.

I usually stand on the outside of their table and start conversations with folks walking by and then do a hand off/introduction and let the author take it from there. Works very well, and I have several authors that have been hiring me for this for years.

Having worked a couple cons for author friends, I am usually hired to come punt people towards the booth. Most of my author friends have no issues having a conversation with someone, but struggle to start the conversation. Enter me, their extroverted buddy who starts the conversation for them.

I saw something the other day that said, older men don't seek out friendships with 18, 19, 20, and 21 year olds. So why do they try to date them?

The only good chapter in Dataclysm — a book from the creator of OkCupid — has some nice data of what men vs women search in dating apps.

Women search for men around their age — give or take 10 years.

Men? They can be 20, 30, 50, 80, 100... their settings is always searching for women in their 20s
