I read a couple books a year maybe. I’d love to read more but something in me just doesn’t want to. If I don’t enjoy the story a ton, I just won’t continue it, and sometimes won’t even start it. It turns into a task of “I have to read this because I want to read more.”

Surely there is a way to get over this! I think it is just imposter syndrome to some degree.

Even so, if I end up writing something that feels different from 'standard' writing, have I not just invented my own genre then? Or shifted away into something else? I feel like there's ways to justify it
