Im a sculptor living in St Louis. I use a lot of cardboard and other under appreciated materials to create taxidermy style art pieces. You can find my work at Houska Gallery here in STL or contact me directly for current available pieces or commissions.

Oh no! I just remembered there are tomatoes in the door pocket of my truck that my 4yr old nicked from the school garden. Also, I hope your tomatoes ripen.

I love your work!! The contrast of the red and black ink and white paper is always so lovely.

Yeh, I have a responsibility to my kids. They didn’t asked to be pulled from the ether. They don’t owe me shit. It’s my job to help them be human, to love to be alive.

You can use that one if you want.

My most recent one from last year! Had a new friend (him in the second pic wearing a pumpkin) who'd just moved up from Mexico and he'd never done pumpkin carving before. I saw this vaguely skullish pumpkin and mentioned Calavera and he urged me to go for it - really proud of how it turned out!
A pumpkin, wider at the top and narrowed toward the bottom somewhat like a skull, which has been carved into (but not carved right through) in a design like a Calavera, the decorated skulls associated with Dia de los Muertos in Mexico, with flowery designs around the eyes, nose, and teeth. A man in blue jeans and a black t-shirt, fists on hips, proudly wearing a pumpkin on his head.

Yeh, the LEDs are awesome. I had some leftover from a project and now it’s a thing. My kids love it.

No matter how you spell it, it’s a good message.
I’m holding up a wish written on the cardboard dragon scales I’m using for the the finish on my sculpture.

Safe for work, made by me, a human and totally fungible!
Heron sculpt im working on. First coat of paint. It’s made from a recycled coat rack. Buffalos unite!! Myself and Bess Kalb showing off our respective additions to bison culture. Myself working on a dragon’s tail made of cardboard while talking about technique so to a young artist at a local makers space for kids. T hi is is the head section of the dragon. All in all I’ll have about 30’ of undulating cardboard dragon going in and out of the ceiling at the magic house.
