I got so used to pulling up Netflix when I watched Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist up through The Defenders crossover that it's been really difficult remembering to pull up Disney+ to get caught up on the rest.

The truly insidious nature of AI is that Weird Al fans used to be able to talk about how much they loved Al, but now, because lowercase L and uppercase i look the same, Weird Al fans who prefer artists' rights over algorithms have to type something else instead.

Last year, someone complained about there being no "Thanksgiving bangers" (great Thanksgiving songs), and now I think about that phrase way too much.

I just gave up on strikethrough in a Bluesky post and reflected on how I just took another step toward becoming as tech ignorant as my dad boasts he is. Any other millennials completely aware of themselves slowly losing touch with technology? It's terrifying!

The crazy part about SnyderBros is how few people they think liked Superman (2025). It is absolutely out of touch with reality.

Drive Angry gave me what I wanted from Ghost Rider. Keep it going.

Upgrade gave me what I wanted from Venom. Keep it going.

My top 3 movies:

1. The Shining
2. There Will Be Blood
2. American Psycho

I'm happy the world just showed up for Paul Dano. We don't have There Will Be Blood without him.

I want to start a medical subrogation company called Kings of Lien.

That may only be funny to me.

Wow. Republicans support Medicare for all, 49% to 43%. That's Republicans! Can we get rid of Citizens United already so these Republicans can get their Medicare for all already?

The fact that they made Damar one of the best characters in all of TV...

I mean, wow. Deep Space Nine had just the deepest roster.

I prefer to live a life of appreciation, despite everything my senses, my reasoning, and my intuition says. It sounds like I'm sucking up all the time, but I notice people the way I would want to be noticed, and it makes me feel better at the end of the day.

All I want for Christmas is the [stares in Klingon] meme on a tshirt.

Sometimes it's easier to talk about the politics of cinematic universes than it is to talk about the current situation of the world.

The Saudi stuff about requiring the return of the Snyder-Verse is problematic on a lot of levels, IMO, but even if it's true, I would imagine they bring back the actors, not the creative team. People on both sides of the fight like Affleck and Cavill, but Snyder bombed. I can't see WB forgetting.

This stuff about Batman and Superman is not what I want. It's what I believe is coming with the future merger.
November 24, 2025 at 10:11 PM
I think we should have Batman in both the Reeves and Gunn continuity, but both are trying to cast all of Batman's villains immediately, and that's a ton of risk for WB to absorb. If Gunn gets Batman in the DCU, I think he will have to focus on Justice League, not Batman, villains.

I read some of the quotes from execs that people are using to say that the Snyderverse is returning. I'm pretty sure what they're hinting at is a Batman-verse (Reeves) and a Superman-verse (Gunn), not an opening for the Snyderverse to return.

MTG gets zero kind words from me unless and until her red seat is turned blue.

Like most of you, I too am constantly plagued by the fact that "No Brendan Fraser, No Encino Man" doesn't have the same number of syllables as "No Woman, No Cry." There's just nothing that any of us can do about it.

I'll say, "It's a kind of Magic," and then I'll drop my win condition.
November 22, 2025 at 2:48 AM
In my head canon, we got rid of her because MTG was already taken by Magic: the Gathering. That's what I'm going to teach my grandchildren while playing commander some day.

Put me in charge of Marvel and I will do everything in my power to deliver Dav Pilkey on Deadpool, Rainbow Rowell on Fantastic Four, and Alyssa Wong on X-Men.

MTG is resigning and leaving behind what is considered one of the safest conservative seats in Congress. If Democrats can organize and get a win in this unwinnable district, imagine what message that would send!
