Trying to divide 55378008 by zero… I think my mate must have solve a kidney to get his hands on this 65 year old Curta mechanical calculator.

Another amazing Design Engineering Night last week. The new space is perfect – I think that's the biggest telly I've ever seen. Such a friendly crowd and so glad to bump into some old friends. Praise to the Granola team for bringing these minds together.

If you’re looking for a podcast episode where the creator of Magic The Gathering discusses a future where AI takes everyone’s jobs, and how game design principles interact with Universal Basic Income… I found it. Well worth a listen: https://overcast.fm/+5K6Z8EMZg

Using PGlite as drop-in replacement for Postgres in tests is pretty slick, I have to say. Running Drizzle migrations to build a fresh ephemeral DB before each test is a lot speedier than Testcontainers.

Finally took Spec Kit for a spin

How it automates research for implementation plans is neat but the whole process feels clunky. Not sure the output quality is much better than an LLM’s PRD put into Backlog.md

Cloudflare’s new Cap'n Web library looks interesting. Returning objects with methods seems an exciting way to write RPC code. But that "record-replay" thing looks like it could be bad juju to me.
