With freedom comes responsibility. The myth of the self-made man is the worst myth ever; "No man is an island". Equal protection for all under the law...Don't usually chat.

It demonstrated to me that I wasn't as "alone" so to speak. Confidence in numbers, positive energy. It leads to the next step, although ill-defined as it is now. A matrix of reinforcing options appears out of the fog...
This didn’t come up in my undergrad Econ department…it sure didn’t come up in my financial planning practice. I’m intrigued however! I’m reading…thanks, Liz. Loving Bluesky for stuff like this!
I’m right there with you. As a kid we would walk right up the south lawn from the Ellipse. No fences…and then walk over to the east wing and go in. Height of the Cold War and Vietnam. Then the fences, 9/11, taller fences…now this. WTF…
…and went forth, still very hungry and still very much alone.
No sooner was this uttered, did a raspy voice of the MAHA Nazi proclaim “No cake for you! The additives and dyes are killing your sperm and rotting your brains.” So sullenly, they sat knowing not what to do next. “Let us find some libtards and own THEM!” Said one energetic boy…and they all got up…
@lovekat41.bsky.social here’s a new definition. Hammer this home. @resistrebelrevolt.net share this…
An army of One! Fabulous!
…The People’s House. Shut that down in the nineties..then 9/11…then tall fences, now this. I’m distraught.
I’ll add here that I just saw something that triggered me more than anything; backhoes ripping into the east side of The White House. Not a nightmare, really happening, not an esoteric academic conjecture. Fond memories as a kid when you could walk right up the south lawn from the Ellipse…
…it’s not too hard to come up with all sorts of dystopian plot lines. I think we are leading ourselves into a nightmare of our own making. Why some feel powerless to wake up from this fevered dream is a mystery in many ways. I think the Buddha had a good start on the explanation tho. Cheers!
To corner markets, there’s too much competition for that. Too many power players. Too many egos…the predictive programming I think I understand you to mean, is more the product of imagination. I mean if you spread all of the tech we have in front of you, know a bit about the human heart…
Mentioned before, had front row seats…many guys I went to college with ended up in finance; Goldman, Lehman, Morgan Stanley. Consulting: Andersen, Booz Hamilton…you get the picture. While their thinking is similar it isn’t the same. There was no conniving for world domination, collusion
Wall St is the best and absolutely worst of us. Mostly worst…I had front row seats for 20+ years.
I’m afraid I’m not one of her constituents and don’t follow these races that closely. I was merely stating that the time for strident opposition is now, the hour late.
So focus on the big picture, the picture that allows for the greatest number of people, view points, that stresses process over product, the wandering journey not the destination. Focus on trans rights? Won’t mean a thing if there’s no forum or ability to secure those rights. Am I right?
Someone shared your/this post. Good approach on SNAP. Also read some of your others. EMT myself, toward end of career…stay strong, be safe!
I saw him with Robert Johnson down at a crossroads just north of Meridian on a cold November night. Mostly shadows, but it was them, huddling over a small fire in a coffee can.
Just like with the atom, when Crick and Watson cracked the code, the unsavory amongst us started to rub their hands together in greedy anticipation.
Its cheese...why choose? Choose both.
We won't let it happen.
Well this is a little distressing. There is so much human history in that place...
Or they just didn't give a sh*t, and ignored you?
Some good gag writers working for this regime...I'd laugh a lot more if they weren't so dangerous and the stakes so high.
Gotta be honest, the first thing that popped into my mind with this question was the Denis Leary line from end of The Thomas Crown Affair re-make. What do I care about "...swirls of paint that are really only important to some very silly rich people." or something like that.
Come to the negotiating table? They need to be thrown out first and arrested next. We are well past negotiating.
