Prime Minister Netanyahu’s decision to keep the Rafah crossing closed until further notice constitutes a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement and a denial of the commitments he made to mediators and guarantor parties.

The continued closure of Rafah—blocking the exit of the wounded and sick, restricting civilian movement in both directions, and preventing the entry of equipment necessary for searching for missing persons under the rubble, as well as the tools and teams required to identify and examine recovered bodies—will delay the process of retrieving and handing over the remains.

The occupation’s ongoing violations and attacks, which have so far amounted to more than 47 documented breaches resulting in 38 killed and 143 injured, once again reveal its aggressive intentions and continued siege policy against more than two million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. War criminal Netanyahu persists in fabricating false pretexts to obstruct the agreement and evade his obligations.

We call on the mediators and guarantor parties to act urgently to pressure the occupation to immediately open the Rafah crossing, comply with all terms of the agreement, and end its ongoing crimes against our Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
