The only downside of the movie being an all-timer is that it's making people forget that the show is, quite often, unimaginably good as well

My big conspiracy is that due to our overall systemic decline in both cultural literacy and actual literacy we have spawned a generation of people who don’t even know how to get horny anymore
🤦🏾‍♂️

Speak for yourself lol

I feel the work needed a bit more edge and poignancy for this to be more apparent but is an endearing enough little light read.
Ultimately is a work where through its characters not wanting to be born and the anti-life aspects of the villains of the plot work as way for Inori to put forth her feelings on the discussions of euthanasia in japan.
Is just a single volume work so it world and implications feel a bit underexplored and Inori herself admits on the afterword that she has ideas for future developments if it ends becoming serialized. I wanted the main realtionship to be stronger too.
For this reason I think the events are super focused on what it sets out to do, and it wastes no time setting up the characters and world. That said I feel the opening to the third act is a bit rushed, compared to a more organic approach the rest of the volume has where things flow with more ease.
(105) Homunculus Tears (2024)

Inori's new novel, I liked the approach to writing here more than in WataOshi, as this one has a third party narrator for one and it was thought as novel from the get go instead of being written as a web novel.
as an example not all the main characters have enough focus Misaki and Fumino the most affected by this despite their importance to the work. I wish on the production side of things it was better. But I guess we could have it worse *side eyes at 9 Nine's adaptation*
and what it seems at the end a cliffhanger for more to come, because it ends pretty much inconclusive with a very nebulous political point. I had fun with it but as I said is just very surface level Nukitashi,
When it was anounced as just one cour, and one with only 11 episodes, but is kind of insane this adaptation happened in the first place. I knew this would happen, the anime for better or for worse follows an original route based on Nanase's
(104) Nukitashi The animation (2025)

This feels like a Nukitashi demo, an anime that showcases a bit what Nukitashi is, the good jokes, the outrageous plot, some of its political edge but that ultimately it just skims the surface of what makes the original work special.
I feel also with a better production the comedy would have carried over more strongly, but the promise of the first opening stays unfulfilled to the end. So while I don't dislike it I don't know if I have it on me to watch another season of this.
to end, like the episodes with the faux anime that, while yes it formed the backbone to a fun little dynamic between a fujoshi teacher and her student that felt a bit yuri at times, but these segments were rough and others like that were just too long for their own good.
(103) Witch Watch (2025)

It was ok, not all of its comedy works for me, while the main leads relationship is endearing as a romantic plot, I think the show meanders too much into some drawn out segments, and this is where I would just be looking forward to the segment or episode
between the elements that comprise the work, the comedy, the action, the horror and even some emotive elements that pack quite a punch. Is a good modernization on the material and a refreshing action shonen to watch. One of the best openings of the season too.
