"Cats don't actually love you"

A cat is a small creature in the middle of the food chain that is fully aware that you are a very large thing that could stomp its head in at any moment and yet it chooses to rest its tiny little head on your leg for a nap and spreads out on the floor near you exposing its belly and its most sensitive organs. It brings dead mice and bugs to you to share food.

Don't you get it? This tiny thing trusts you. It wants to help you too. It licks your leg thinking that it's helping. It kneads on you to find comfort. It shares its body warmth with you in the cold and gives you your space in the heat. It hisses at other mammals it sees outside including other cats in an effort to protect its family.

Cats love you so so much. But they will keep trying to eat plastic.

And wouldn't you know it, the reliquary - which still has a brain of it's own because again it is a magic android - turns out to be trans.

So our protagonist is a plucky young lesbian who will flirt with any girl she's near. Which causes a problem because what if she flirts with the Reliquary? Not a problem - they figure - they'll give her a "boy" reliquary.

But because they learned how the Reliquaries are made - using corpses - the Nobles are forbidden from entering a romantic relationship with the Reliquary they're assigned.

Now young Nobles are set to the task of learning to "guard" the reliquaries. Essentially, they are raised from birth to hold onto these magic-androids and guard them with their lives.

The Reliquaries retain all knowledge given to them. So the nobles are like "Hey! We should divide them amongst ourselves!" And with that they are able to conquer most of the world.

They look like people on the outside - because they used to be - but inside they are like magic computers. The nation then calls them Reliquaries because they believe they are religious artifacts.

I had this idea for a fantasy world that had experienced like an apocalypse and was rebuilding itself. While rebuilding, a Napoleonic France like nation finds these artifacts from the last world.

That being said, she openly admitted that she had no knowledge of the character prior to getting the title. The way she described both Jason and Helena was wildly off base and people had been crying character assassination before it was released. The first issue got AWFUL reviews.

I think DC was using it as an excuse to get rid of her. There is another writer on this app who didn't openly state it, but wasn't too torn up about it. They are still employed - and I will not share who just in case DC changes their mind.
