BREAKING: The Senate just passed my legislation to undo Trump’s idiotic tariffs on Canada. I challenged him and won this battle. Next stop: the House.
In March, I sounded the alarm about low staffing levels at the new Veterans Affairs clinic in Chesapeake. Sec. Collins called me a liar, but now the VA plans to cut 35,000 health care positions—forcing veterans to wait longer to see fewer doctors. Our veterans deserve better.

Following the unjustified slaughter of shipwrecked survivors and Trump’s threats of a new war against Venezuela, I’ve filed another War Powers Resolution. To my GOP colleagues: listen to your constituents—the American people don’t want another war.

The attack on a Hanukkah celebration in Australia is horrific. There is no place for antisemitism, and we must stand together to eradicate this evil. My heart is with Australia and the Jewish community around the world.

Happy 389th birthday to the U.S. National Guard. Today and every day, we thank our Guardsmen for all they do, especially during this holiday season when servicemembers across the country are being called away from their families.

Today, I met with health care providers and people affected by federal cuts to Medicaid and the expiration of the ACA subsidies. Stories like these are important as we keep pushing Republicans to fix the mess they've created and ensure Americans have access to affordable care.

Families of the Guardsmen shot in DC: you are owed vigorous prosecution of the criminal.

And if it's determined this mission was unlawful, responsible officials owe you an apology.

Trump admitted that his tariffs are hurting American farmers. But instead of undoing his cost-raising taxes, he wants to spend $12 billion in taxpayer money to put a band-aid on the problem. That's not a real solution. Trump's tariffs need to go.

My statement ahead of a vote on a three-year extension of enhanced Affordable Care Act premium tax credits, which are set to expire at the end of the year, after Republicans failed to extend them as part of the budget bill they passed this summer to cut taxes for billionaires:

Yesterday, weeks after the CEO of Nvidia made a large contribution to the construction of Trump’s new White House ballroom, Trump announced he will allow Nvidia to sell H200 chips to China. I asked experts if this is a mistake that poses a grave threat to our national security. youtu.be/WlWX-jpuih8

It’s Human Rights Day. The Trump Administration has ordered extrajudicial killings in the Caribbean and Pacific, sent people to torture centers in El Salvador, and cut billions in humanitarian aid. Defending universal human rights is more important than ever.

Today, @merkley.senate.gov and I tried to pass our bill to block funds for military action in Venezuela. Republicans blocked it.

We lost my sister-in-law, Tayloe, to Alzheimer’s this year. I know how painful this battle is and my prayers are with Andy and his family.

I'm grateful that my bipartisan bill to support those with Alzheimer’s was extended last year and will keep working to build on it.
A few weeks ago, my dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. I won’t lie—it's been incredibly challenging for me and my family.

Now, I’m embarking on a journey to answer the questions so many of us face when it comes to providing care for our loved ones.

I hope you’ll join me.

Trump giving his economy an “A-plus-plus-plus-plus-plus” will be news to the thousands of Virginians I’ve spoken to over the past few months struggling with high costs.

Good news: my bipartisan legislation repealing the 1991 and 2002 authorizations for war against Iraq is in this year’s defense bill. When the President signs this bill into law, finally closing the book on this forever war, it will be a historic victory for the American people.

A lot of folks are already stretched thin during the holiday season, but Trump’s economic chaos is about to make things worse. Just about everything, from toys to food, is more expensive than last year. I'm going to keep challenging Trump's tariffs and work to bring down costs.

Today, we recognize the 84th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. We owe a great debt to the men and women who bravely served during WWII to win the war. We will always honor their memory and sacrifice, including by working to protect the world they fought to create.

Miners take incredible risks to power our communities. That’s why I’m cosponsoring bipartisan legislation to designate today as National Miners Day, honoring their service, sacrifice, and contributions across VA and the country. I will keep advocating for miners and their families.

Layoff announcements top 1.1 million this year, the most since 2020 pandemic, Challenger says
The firm said layoff plans totaled 71,321 in November, a step down from October but still enough to bring the 2025 total up to 1.17 million.

Trump claims he’s against narcotrafficking. Then why did he pardon a drug kingpin who was sentenced to 45 years in prison for bringing over 400 tons of cocaine into America? With Trump, the rules are often different for rich guys. We need to get to the bottom of this. youtube.com/shorts/XIrGm...

It's International Day of Persons with Disabilities. As we work to advance the rights of people with disabilities, Trump is trying to gut their educational protections and limit their access to health care. We can't let that happen. I'll keep fighting for equal opportunities.

I may not have Spotify, but as a music lover, I wanted in on the fun. Here are a few songs that helped me get through traffic jams on I-95 (thankfully not for any 27-hour stretches this year), late nights, and early mornings. What were your favorite songs this year?
