👋 I'm a French game dev 🎮 & artist 🎨 making art & games about my dreams & special places (or trying, at least)

I made the fighting game Sclash (s.team/a/1284130) with @linagur.bsky.social & Victor Callot, & worked on a variety of other projects

I like fiddling with every aspect of game dev!

Je suggère vraiment cet entretien croisé entre Anne Alombert et Jonathan Bourguignon. La philosophe et l'ingénieur réfexif, on pourrait dire. Et ce passage sur l'usage de l'IA dans l'éducation, qui dit tout. Qui suffit. Qui me terrifie.

But said new stuff comes so fast, and quickly makes older models and software obsolete even when these worked just FINE.

I'm not sure what my point is with all this. Maybe I'm wrong.

We could all be so fine with much less and much less work, and so would be the planet.

I feel like a significant portion of the economic activity of the world is spent on pretty much garbage and useless things.

Yes new shiny products and barely improved tech are shoved down our throat at an increasingly high speed. We're manipulated into thinking we want new products to continue the consumerist trend. Most new updates are pointless or gimmicky. New hardware power just goes into even more unoptimized apps

Do you ever feel like the consumer grade tech we have does not need to get better?
Internet works, messages work, games work, things run well, screens work, etc... I feel like we're at a point where we don't collectively NEED more software updates or hardware upgrades.

My experience playing Genshin Impact & Wuthering Waves is being drawn to games with incredible creativity, architecture, visuals, music, art style, character designs, animations, cutscenes & decent gameplay, only to be denied immersion by intrusive gacha mechanics, busy UI & catastrophic dialogues
