This was just a small microcosm of the overall issue with the Harris campaign-they refused to meet voters where they were at and actively pushed away ppl in their own base because they felt they could win without them.They were more interested in hugging and kissing Rs that they would never win over

That's because the gop campaigns 365 days a year, while the dems largely do not offer a proper counterbalance to the gop message. They constantly capitulate to right wing framing on issues (like immigration for eg), so they come off as the republican lite party so ppl go for the full fat ver instead
