The 24th anniversary of 9/11 is fast approaching, and social media are full of commemorations. But why for the 24th anniversary? Yes, it was a shocking event, but aren't major commemorations usually held on the 25th anniversary? I don't recall anything on the 222nd or 23rd anniversary. Hmm...

As I've posted elsewhere, the Republicans in Congress belong to either the Canine Caucus (lapdogs, attack dogs), the Chicken Caucus (they know what's right but are afraid of the MAGA voters [or blackmail?]), and the Cuckoo Caucus (MTG and similar ... cuckoos).

For a long time I've thought that Tr*** isn't really in charge. Oh, he's as stupid and nasty as ever, but recent photos indicate physical and mental deterioration. I'm with the people who say that the cabal behind him just passes him bits of Project 2025 to sign and gives him a script to repeat.

In the early 1990s, I heard Studs Terkel say that people voted for Reagan because "he made it OK to be stupid." DJT is similar: He made it OK to be stupid, bigoted, and crude. His fans were bullies or mean girls in high school and members of the party-three-nights-a-week crowd in college."

The R's targeted exurban SUV drivers by harping on the rise in gas prices since 2021. Their voters think that presidents control prices and that the lockdown had nothing to do with it. But since then, prices have gradually fallen w/o Trump. ($2.99 today).

I can't help feeling that "undecided" is a euphemism for "oblivious." 1/2
