One of my fav recipes this time of year is this chocolate orange tart that I included at the end of my book Tempest in a Teapot. This recipe took a lot of testing to get right. Anyone else love chocolate orange desserts? I love that combo.

Peach Melba from the Tasting History cookbook by @tastinghistory.bsky.social This was easy and delicious. I used strawberry puree instead of raspberry because it is what I had on hand. Found myself making another bowl the next day.

With my book release right around the corner I'm cooking to keep the nerves under control. I already have one recipe at the back of the book, but why not make more? So I made a themed sorbet! I'm calling it Scrambler Sorbet, which will make sense to those who read it.

A Harvest of Hearts by Andrea Eames is a #romantasy with dark fairy tale vibes. It felt a bit like a darker Howl's if Howl did go around stealing hearts for magical purposes. I'm a sucker for stories with magical buildings.

I originally planned to start with a different inn, but this one was a better series and world opener due to the inn traveling and having guests from all over. That gave me a chance to set up the major world conflicts and cuisine styles among other cultural differences.

I have so many inns I want to write about in this series. I started with this one, giving the book a character focused start because the inn traveling gave me an opportunity to build up the world for future books. And I wanted to hit some #cottagecore vibes.
