Mucosal Immunologist with a special interest in neonatal immune responses to viruses. Getting occasionally side-tracked, but will never forget Dendritic Cells as my first love.

Congrats on getting this over the finish line! So much work - and such a nice paper!! Another important piece in the Puzzle helping us to understand DC subset functions and dynamics across ages.

Excited to share our recent work. We show that dendritic cells that express RORγt are a distinct lineage of DCs with wide tissue distribution and functions ranging from inducing T cell tolerance to T cell activation. Great lead work from PhD student @hamswann.bsky.social www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/...

Good to see all these great people again! Fun at BIW, I think I might be back!

Maintenance of gut homeostasis is expensive, I guess! And it's important, so there is redundancy. IgA might still have the best cost-effect ratio?

Is there a starter package for neonatal immunology? Should there be one?

Beautiful study on the mechanisms of cross-presentation from the Canton lab. Here, they address the question of how antigens get from the phagosome into the cytosol for proteasomal degradation. Definitively worth a read!

The pore-forming apolipoprotein APOL7C drives phagosomal rupture and antigen cross-presentation by dendritic cells
The apolipoprotein APOL7C is recruited to phagosomes to deliver engulfed antigens to the cytosol for cross-presentation by cDCs.
