Yesterday, Connie and I were at 517 Gallery dropping off our paintings and wall hangings.

If you're in the area be sure to come out to 517 Gallery in Denison on 1/10 for the opening of "Memento Vivere" (4pm-6pm).

If you can invest in good brushes, I recommend.

Quality brushes are made with protective bristles surrounding the core to help the brush retain its shape. To keep good brushes in great shape, clean and dry them before storing.

What is this? It was supposed to be a tomato. After taking a photo and realizing the problem, I was able to fix it.

Delving more into realism than usual for this commission. This depiction of a client's home seemed like a great opportunity to practice elements like lighting, reflections and perspective. I'm enjoying this piece so far.

I have a lot of paintings that are "practice"—they didn't turn out how I hoped, or they were experiments.

When a lot of these practice canvases start stacking up, I like to start making a collage. Turning old art into something new is a great source of inspiration!
