1. This AM we learned Bari Weiss sent an email to CBS News staff asking them to submit a memo explaining how they spend their time and what’s working/not working.

Now, the Writers Guild, the union which reps some CBS News staff, says it has sent a demand to CBS to get more info about Bari’s request

Dear Guild Members:
We are aware that Bari Weiss sent an email asking CBS employees to provide information about their jobs and feedback about CBS News. Many of you have expressed concern to us about the purpose of the email, and we share those concerns. WGN, this woman’s employer, is now reporting she was not charged with any crimes and was released.

DHS said earlier she was arrested for assault for throwing objects at agents.

I love that the folks in Norway didn't want to just deprive Donald Trump of the Nobel Peace Prize he was so shamelessly hungry for, they awarded it instead to someone he would hate, a decent Latina woman working against undemocratic authoritarianism. Nice touch. 👨‍🍳👄

A producer and editor for WGN-TV was violently forced to the ground this morning by two Border Patrol agents, before having her hands cuffed behind her back, during an ICE action in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood.

Debbie Brockman has worked for the local television station since 2011.
