I attended DjangoCon US last month, and it was truly epic. I've written a deep-dive about my experience. Thank you to everyone who brought the knowledge and fun! Can't wait for next year. ❤️ 🐍 katherinemichel.github.io/blog/confere...

The one on the plane is so good! Last year, there were three smaller ones, but this one is better imo. I do kind of like the longhorn though.
Jan Riggins Art was back at JPMorganChase Plano to create another one of her fun optical illusion artworks for Employee Appreciation Week. This was taken earlier today at a campus block party. ✈️ ❤️
Fun moment at DjangoCon US celebrating 20 years of Django with delicious raspberry cake!
DjangoCon US is approaching fast. Who is going?!
The Python documentary truly brought a tear to my eye by the end. It's a programming language and so much more.
"I just want other women to have role models. I hope I can help inspire them and help them. These opportunities belong to you, too." Loved seeing Mariatta's interview in the Python documentary. ❤️
This Python documentary has everything. Even my employer got a mention as having helped inspire the creation of data science tools.
And Zope might have saved Python. Wow!
I recognized Paul Everitt from JetBrains and sat and chatted with him at Black Python Devs Summit at DjangoCon US. TIL from the Python documentary that he co-founded Zope! Had no idea.
"Ultimately, there's a sense of fun that comes across. Guido coded that into the name of the language." - Ken Manheimer

Watching the Python documentary. Seeing a PyLadies shirt always makes me smile. ❤️
Before I went to Austin last year, I made an effort to find great restaurants. It's a good sign that both that I found through customer reviews and loved are on the Bib Gourmand list: Franklin Barbecue and Cuantos Tacos.
A travel tip that I just picked up from a friend. I've recently started to get more organized to have great food experiences when I travel. Michelin has a special designation called Bib Gourmand for restaurants that are value for money. Interested to give it a try. guide.michelin.com/us/en

Although I'd love to eat at a Michelin-starred restaurant sometime, I also wonder if it would be a bit high falutin' for me. I grew up on Midwestern comfort food. I did do a short stint working as a temp in five star hotels some years ago. Some of the food was a bit strange for me. 😆

For those heading to Chicago for DjangoCon US. I already have the Art Institute and Shedd Aquarium on my sightseeing list, but I like to check Atlas Obscura before I visit any city to see what oddities there are. Last year in Durham, I saw the Can Opener. www.atlasobscura.com/things-to-do...
