Babes—from one human who struggles with mental health to any others, remember to breathe. Orienting and grounding are necessary to help calm the body and brain to take necessary action and use the rational part of the brain to plan and do so. Recapture your attention with me and use 5-7-8 breathing

Quick reminder: they can still release the Epstein files during a government shutdown.

breathe in for the count of 5, hold for 7, breathe out for the count of 8. Your vagus nerve and central nervous system know the world is a dumpster fire and in order to support our inner worlds, we have to tend to our humanity by practicing self-care. Tend to yourself, then get back to it 🩷

I think I’m an Independent. At 33 years old, I recognize my social learning habit of following others like me, but today—I am a community member of other humans and therefore, I align with human rights—and not what is Democratic or Republican. Hmm. #MercuryInLibra moral and ethical composting.
Friends, just checking in to see how your mental health is doing? What is your level of anxiety on a scale of 1-5 with 1 being low and 5 being high? How about feelings of hopelessness? What about feelings of hope? Joy? Belonging?
For me, I have a 3/5 anxiety, 2/5 hopelessness, 4/5 hope, 3/5 joy
IT TOOK A MONTH TO REBALANCE MY NERVOUS SYSTEM, but we are back online, back on the phone calling my lawmakers, and ready to continue to make the path by walking forward through the world to influence it.
I just earned my master of social work and as a survivor of intimate partner violence, a neurodivergent woman, and a first generation student, I’m here to say—KEEP GOING.
I’ve been thinking about what the youth will do when there are no more questions they consider asking. Like a big black hole of data input by people in power and hackers.

The most sobering part about becoming 1930’s Germany is realizing that no one is going to come here and liberate those being brutalized. If this historically inhumane regime is going to be overthrown, We The American People are going to have to do it.

Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism.

We have to sustain each other. Making joy isn’t denial, it’s how we will survive
my LGBTQ+ community, I love you and I think lovely thoughts and share them with others because we are stardust.
grounding is a direct way to support your nervous system wherever you are. some of my most useful grounding tools I use right now: tuning in to each of my senses, emotionally expressing myself thru rage art, and using mindfulness to consider how my body feels and checking in w my emotions. WBU?
the effects of trauma on the mind, body, spirit, culture, society, and world and its ability to travel across generations rooted in the evil of the time. we are currently being systematically abused by the Trump Admin, monopolies in mainstream media, and Republican lawmakers. survivors know abusers.
@zohrankmamdani.bsky.social I wish you the best and look forward to learning from your service to your community!
Mamdani also exhibits strengths-based leadership qualities because instead of succumbing to the rhetoric projected onto him by an oppressive cultural bias toward condemning speech, they choose to seek solutions through present moment focus and forward achievement. I’m here for this!
In Solution-Focused Therapy, we consider solution talk to be the most effective way to support clients to turn toward their future and not focus on problem talk which is inherently in the past. Mamdani uses reflective assessment, evaluation, and strategies rather than reflexive or defensive language
Mamdani on "globalize the intifada": "That's not language that I used. The language that I used and the language that I will continue to use to lead the city is that which speaks clearly to my intent, which is an intent grounded in a belief in universal human rights."
I AM WORKING ON ACCEPTING THIS DIALECTIC
If your tech optimism doesn’t make room for existential dread, you’re not paying attention.

But if your pessimism doesn’t make room for existential astonishment, you’re missing the plot.

We are apes with code. That can be terrifying. It can be transcendent. It’s OK if it’s both.
