This semester I’m learning about the cytoskeleton and quantitative imaging approaches in Dr. Q’s mechanochemical cell biology class at Richmond. Our course research project is looking at the impact of Myo10 knockdown on cell migration using spreading and wound-healing assays to get our data.
I also spent a summer in Joshua Rosenthal’s lab at the MBL @mblscience.bsky.social studying cephalopod mRNA editing. My experiments looked at ADAR expression and mRNA editing throughout squid development. I presented this work at the CephNeuro2024.
I have spent two summers studying mouse development in Blanche Capel’s lab atDuke University. I focused on male germ cell development in the process of spermatogenesis and have presented this work at the cellbio 2022, the ASCB/EMBO annual meeting.
🚨 Looking for Research Technician Opportunities! 🚨
I’m Kayla Friedman, a 4th-year Biology student at University of Richmond (graduating May 2025), eager to gain research experience before pursuing a PhD. I’m interested in brain research, cancer, stem cells, and all cell & molecular biology (1/4).
