While the 1st order effects of Putin falling are good, it's the 2nd order effects that worries everyone. Russia is essentially a gas station with lots of nuclear bombs. Remember how we scrambled after the USSR fell to ensure none of the nukes took a walk? This could be potentially worse.

This is very ironic. Putin wanted to revitalize the old Soviet sphere of influence. Instead, he is putting the final nails in the coffin of the old USSR.

What's stupid about this, regardless of personal opinions about Comey, is that he knows this process inside and out. Neither Kash, nor Bondi or any of the other clowns are following the established procedures for presenting a valid case, and it shows. It's all done for an audience of one.

And that has always been his superpower. If you take him at his word, he is actually pretty consistent, but he makes other people doubt it, until he does it, and he does it so often that it almost becomes white noise. This is how he shifts the Overton window right before our lying eyes.

It goes deeper than that. Regardless of the administration, they don't want to lose the access and the perks. Also, with increasingly conservative ownership, they have to both-sides things to keep the suits happy and stay employed.
