As a small light in the darkness, we at least found one of the few good landlords. Refusing the cops to clear out the camp because it's on private property and blaming the city for inadequate care.

Depends on whether we're talking knights in a societal context or just military. The Byzantines fielded heavy cavalry comparable to that of any European nation, especially foreign mercenaries later on. However, they did not have the same feudal structure and thus not knights as we think of them.
