Holding this book for the first time was a feeling I’ll remember forever.

16 months ago, I signed the book deal. One month from now, you finally get to read the damn thing.

Ross Atkins and the #BlueJays’ front office have built a winner. For all the criticism this group has taken over the years, it’s time to bring the same energy in praise of them.

My story on how they’ve done it and why it’s finally working:

How Blue Jays' front office built a winner
NEW YORK -- This is what it looks like when a plan comes together, and it starts at the top. The Blue Jays are off to the American League Championship Series for the first time since 2016, finally sha...

In the spring of 1981, the Brewers were very close to trading Buck Martinez to the Yankees, but they were in the same division and the deal never happened.

That May, he was traded to the #BlueJays and thought: "Oh, fuck, that's the best they could do?"

Wrong then, never since.

Tonight in New York was John Schneider's finest hour as a manager.

The #BlueJays belong in this moment and so does he.

George Springer: “He means everything. He takes a lot of heat, you know? He does a lot of good stuff for us -- he fights for us every single day."

John Schneider texted Pete Walker and the other #BlueJays pitching coaches, Graham Johnson and Sam Greene, this morning:

“This is an opportunity to have some fun.”

The entire group and the eight relievers used nailed this. As good as a bullpen day gets on this stage.

The #BlueJays are off to the ALCS

The Toronto Blue Jays are going to the American League Championship Series for the first time since 2016.

They’ve beaten the Yankees and are now four wins from advancing to this organization’s first World Series since 1993.

They’re pouring onto the field at Yankee Stadium.

So far, I like how the #BlueJays are taking a run at this bullpen game. That's just a rough spot for Fluharty to allow that HR.

Between Varland, Domínguez, Hoffman and eventually Yesavage, keep the top arms for the Judge-Bellinger-Stanton pocket of the lineup each trip through.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

Who else?

#BlueJays up early, 1-0.

Bo Bichette hit against Max Scherzer and Chris Bassitt yesterday in Toronto, then they all travelled to New York together.

Schneider called it two days of good news for Bichette, who jogged on the field today. #BlueJays
keeganmatheson.bsky.social
News: Trey Yesavage will be in the #BlueJays’ bullpen tonight.

Kevin Gausman will throw a “modified bullpen” today and it would have to be a “very unique” spot for him to pitch in relief, but Yesavage is likelier.

Nathan Lukes on Vladimir Guerrero Jr.:

“He’s the leader right now.”

And on Vladdy vs. Judge?

“I’m taking Vladdy. I’m taking Vladdy today.” #BlueJays

News: Bo Bichette is here jogging on the field at Yankee Stadium.

Very light, but this is the first we’ve seen. He still didn’t look very comfortable walking back to the dugout. #BlueJays

It’s up to the players, but this is a big night for manager John Schneider.

The momentum of the series has shifted and his team is rolling out a bullpen game against the highest-scoring lineup in baseball. Big spotlight on the decisions we’ll see tonight. #BlueJays

Game 4.

It’ll really cool down as the game goes on tonight, but it looks like we dodged the rain.

#BlueJays with another shot at advancing to the ALCS.

John Schneider on Aaron Judge, who he again praised, and his three-run homer that broke this game open:

“Hopefully he gets a bad night's sleep and has some bad food tonight or something like that. Give him credit, man, that was a ridiculous swing.” #BlueJays

#BlueJays lose, 9-6.

The Yankees scored 8 unanswered.

Rock solid defensive team all season, but that killed them tonight after Bieber only went 2.2IP.

Game 4 Wednesday night in The Bronx.

Aaron Judge just launched a three-run shot off the left field foul pole and it’s tied, 6-6.

The press box is shaking. #BlueJays
