As we start to wind down for the calendar year our #ForensicScience student projects go on pause for the holidays. But sneaking in at the last minute 3rd year Cas Redfern has been prepping some ballistic moulds and making bite mark imprints for their #ForensicAnthropology #research.

Do #Christmas decorations go up in November or December?

Well in #ForensicScience its important that we approach everything from a neutral and unbiased point perspective. So our wonderful admin team made sure this held true by starting to our decorations up on Friday, and finished today!

Last week we welcomed the Grimsby Institute to campus for a #ForensicScience #Outreach event.

23 students and staff from Grimsby were able to take part in a #ForensicAnthropology themed event led by our Lecturers Viv Heaton, Emma Hough and George Handley, and our T-Level student Vincenza.

Recently on our 'Topics in #ForensicBiology' modules we had our annual two weeks at Keele's School of Medicine. In the first of these labs our students are able to work with cadavers (not photographed) for the first time, as well as explore careers in anatomy and mortuary work.

The weather is looking up at the weekend, so come join us on our beautiful #keeleUniversity campus for our last #OpenDay of 2025 this Saturday!

We'll be giving talks on all our courses in #ForensicScience, #ForensicBiology, and #ForensicChemistry, as well as tours of our labs and scene houses.

Recently we've been working on #CrimeScene photography with our third year #ForensicScience students. They are introduced to working with exposure, depth of field, shutter speed, and noise, before putting all this into practice in the lab.

This week on our Advanced Topics in #ForensicBiology module, both our masters and third year students were introduced to histology in #ForensicScience. Their lecture covered the types of histological methods, and in the lab they got to analyse a series of crime scene hard tissues.
