Sorry to read of the death of the actor & playwright Jack Shepherd. He played Bill Brand a left-wing Labour MP in the ITV series of the same name written by Trevor Griffiths (1976) & wrote a play on Chartism, Holding Fire (Globe 2007) amongst lots of other TV & theatre.
