NEWS: Libraries WIN in federal court!

A judge in RI issued a permanent injunction stopping the Administration from dismantling the Institute of Museum & Library Services and nullifying all actions taken to do so.

LIBRARIES WIN IN COURT. Federal court issues permanent injunction in Rhode Island V. Trump, stops the dismantling of the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The court ruled that all actions taken by the Administration to dismantle IMLS are nullified. This injunction takes immediate nationwide effect: all grants, in every state and territory. The Administration is stopped from taking these actions again in the future. Show up for our libraries, American Library Association.

Back to Tue movies - The Running Man. I had never seen the 80s original w/ Schwarzenegger so we watched that over the weekend in prep. Wow was that a cheesy film. The new one is much better and I understand is much truer to the source material. Entertaining popcorn movie.

Was also good to chow down on some toasted ravioli and try their newly added tavern style pizza (pictured). It passed muster (with all mozzarella instead of the provel blend of course).

a golden retriever stands stoically on a sidewalk on a drizzly day. he’s wearing a clear plastic raincoat that appears slightly too small – it doesn’t really cover most of his face, and it only extends down to about his shoulders. he’s refusing to make eye contact with you, but he’s remaining calm. the golden in the clear raincoat has turned his head slightly, so that only one ear and one eye are actually covered by it, and the rest of his face is exposed to the elements. his expression is a cross between “are you kidding me” and “you will be hearing from my attorneys.” we expect quite a ruckus when he gets that inevitable bath later, seeing as how only two-thirds of his body is actually going to remain dry.

a person in a white shirt and blue striped boxers holds a black and tan dachshund under the armpit with one arm and under the chin with the other. the dog has a massive mouthful of cooked spaghetti chomped in his mouth, with noodles sticking out in all directions, and a single long strand dangling down the length of his skinny body. we know the position isn’t ideal, but the dog was recently fished out of the garbage where he found this treasure, so it’s a temporary solution. the dog’s eyes are wide: likely a combination of joy at the feast, surprise as the swift removal, and shock at having been caught.

Back to Tue at the movies - top priority was seeing Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere. Admittedly I was biased to like this film. It’s not a typical rock n’ roll biopic - maybe that’s why some critics didn’t like it. The Jeremys (White & Strong) give award worthy performances.
