I think that is true of more of the population than we like to think. If they choose to vote at all it is on issues that can be addressed in sound bites and by loud voices [read largely, liars] who offer easy solutions and scapegoats.
The media loves a rating point more than a factual point.

I can't understand how some of the children and grandchildren of those who stopped Nazis don't appreciate that they are back. They look a little different but are making it clear what is going to happen.
