I’ve spent my life working to make NM stronger, fairer, and more hopeful. Now I’m asking for your help: sign the petition to get me on the ballot for Governor in 2026. Every signature brings us closer to the future our families deserve.💙

Sam doesn’t want to debate me, because he knows I’m right about medical malpractice reform. He’s supporting the medical malpractice attorneys!😞
Why does AG Bregman want to debate only Secretary Haaland but not you, Mayor Miyagishima?
a) He can't count as high as 3.
b) He has never heard of Las Cruces.
c) He is being cynically disingenuous.
I’ll debate you Sam, and Deb can join us. Let’s do three debates before the end of the year. ABQ, Santa Fe and Las Cruces, I can get it arranged. “Don’t Back Down”! 😊
There are *THREE* candidates for the Democratic nomination for Governor! Bregman thinks he is clever by challenging only @DebHaalandnm.bsky.social to a debate and ignoring @KenMiyagishima.bsky.social. Deb Haaland is CORRECT to not even dignify this dishonest challenge with a response. #NeverBregman
That’s the same spirit I’ll bring as Governor: one New Mexico, working together, no matter our background or beliefs. Because progress starts with unity and unity starts with leadership. 🧵(6/6)
That approach worked. I won re-election with 62% of the vote against two challengers and went on to serve 16 years, the longest-serving mayor in Las Cruces history. 🧵(5/6)
Slowly, we rebuilt trust. Former critics became allies. Because when you lead with respect and consistency, people see your heart, not your party. 🧵(4/6)
Instead of fighting back, I reached out. I met with those who disagreed with me and made sure every voice had a place at the table. 🧵(3/6)
In 2007, I unseated a highly popular mayor, by just 80 votes. It wasn’t easy. Some people resigned in protest. The city was divided. 🧵(2/6)
I believe New Mexico can heal its divisions. Real leadership means listening, earning trust, and working for everyone, not just those who already agree with you. 🧵(1/6)
I had a chance to speak at the indivisible meeting yesterday (Sunday). I thought it went well, I also purchased this shirt as a donation.
It was wonderful to see all our friends at the 112th Northern Navajo fair!

We’re humbled by the courage and fortitude you shared in your stories with and we intend to help all New Mexicans achieve their dreams for a State that truly serves the needs of all of us.

Thank you!
Gorgeous sunrise thanks for sharing!

I believe homeownership is the way to fix New Mexico’s housing crisis. Please read my plan and share your thoughts. Together, we can build a state where families don’t just survive, they thrive. 🧵(12/12)
This isn’t free housing. It’s ownership at cost. With a 7% state return built in, the plan stays sustainable while giving families a fair chance at stability.
🧵(11/12)
Think about families paying $1,200 a $1,400 month for motels or a run down rental. That’s money gone forever. Imagine instead putting it into a condo you own. One empties your wallet. The other builds your future. 🧵(10/12)
Here’s the promise: zero down, fair monthly payments, and equity that grows. Families stop renting their future and start building it. That’s the New Mexico I believe in. 🧵(9/12)
That’s why I’ve put forward a plan. By working with contractors from around the State with the State supplying labor, we can cut prices about 25%. The state can then sell homes at cost, opening doors that have been locked for too long. Contractors and New Mexicans share the benefits.🧵(8/12)

I won’t accept that families have only two bad choices: crushing rent or motel bills that drain paychecks. We need a real third option: homeownership that builds dignity and security. 🧵(7/12)
