Brandon Dang (USA) didn't show the E dismount in the videos I saw from podium training. My guess is he's going for the 5.9 in quals and should he make finals, he will upgrade there.

Hashimoto has changed his composition on high bar from the University Games. There he opened with a tak 1/2 to Liukin. In podium training at World's he showed a Tak full, then a Tak 1/2 to Kolman.

The Liukin now stands alone in his routine.

Oka Shinnosuke looked less than top form in podium training but has been dealing with injuries. Unsure if he is just someone who is fine having a less than ideal podium training or if he's still coming back from some injuries. Something to watch.

I feel a bit like a broken record on this thread, but floor was not kind to basically any athlete I saw except Carlos Yulo and Harry Hepworth (sans dismount).

Hamlet Manukyan looked incredible on PH in the training hall (video on Artur Davtyan's story).

One of the more unique corner transitions that I'm surprised more people don't talk about is Kam's full turn to scale.

Kam ( like several others) seemed to struggle at times with the floor especially on the triples.

Kam also struggled on vault. We didn't see a full routine on HB from Bart Deurloo (NED). He mentioned in interviews that he had some struggles in the Dutch trials process so it will be interesting to see if he can put a full routine together.

In the moments of comedy category, we have Asher Hong running away out of his full-in dismount on P Bars.

Full disclaimer, Asher often does not look fantastic in podium training (i.e. vault to his knees both times) but competes very strongly.

Carlos Yulo is in the running for funniest scale of podium training (:31 - :35)

Looks like he is upgrading his second pass & dismount from Asian Champs. He's also taking advantage of the time to practice different corner transitions (not req. til '26)

- Luke Whitehouse is still opting for the scale over other new options. Did not do his full Difficulty in podium training. Downgraded the dismount from a double double to just a double tuck.

Two-time Olympic champion Carlos Yulo will only compete on floor and vault this week in Jakarta. He says he's been dealing with an injured wrist in the lead up.

"I still want the taste of competition. That is the most important for me right now."
