The results from this year's Bugs Matter survey (with Buglife) show that the number of flying insects sampled on vehicle number plates across the UK has fallen by a staggering 59%, corresponding to an average annual decline of 19%.

From the Siberian Arctic to South Swale, Kent... these Brent geese have undertaken an incredible journey to get here! ❄️

Brent geese fly around 6000 miles to spend the winter with us (from October onwards), feeding on seagrass and sometimes agricultural land near the coast.

This once-overshadowed pond at Hothfield Heathlands - kwtg.uk/hothfield - had been struggling with lack of light & build-up of leaf litter. 

Ashford Area Warden, Will, and the volunteers have broken through the canopy to let light back in. Now to reconnect it to the rest of the heath and bog! 💪
