And Greece for me is isolation - me on the outside looking inside, experiencing and immersed but never able to mingle, like a drop of oil in the water.

When I think of home, I'm thinking of Greece. I'm thinking of eating skepasti in my room, alone, over my laptop placed on a kitchen-table-turned-desk, Nick Cave crooning the verses of Balcony Man in the background.

Ehkä tänään meillä on ihana päivä, sinä ja minä yhdessä, eikö niin?
-- Maybe today we'll have a wonderful day, you and I together, right? --

(Ah yes yes, I love what is not loved, more fanarts of my favorite "susi poika" after I finish commissions)

All three mentioned are great, with France being my favourite among them (no offence to the UK and Belgium) but the Netherlands might just be the nicest all around. I wouldn't be planning a move there otherwise!

I've got such a backlog omg. But I just came back from Sverige and before I move on to more pressing things, this is how I'm going to remember it:

As much as I like working on Dawn Chorus, I also can't wait to have my life back. I'd never guess how big of an undertaking this would be. I avoid glancing back, it's still time to march ahead, but this September I think I hope to make time for other things too. Like replying to people more often.

The work on Dawn Chorus first started in 5th of September 2019 with me and @hqpng.art, soon later joined by @roborak.bsky.social. The last six years of my life were devoted mostly to nurturing this project, writing daily until the VN became longer than the entire LOTR trilogy.

v0.50 comes out later this week. It'll close the whole day 4, leaving only the last stretch of day 5 and epilogues.

There's so much to do still. Finishing Broken Harbours, putting both it and Dawn Chorus on Steam. Releasing merch. Work on UI and rewrites. But I can finally see the end from here.

None, but it would be fun to make some finally. Been meaning to for a while, there's just always something else to do

I was surprised to see they weren't in the US - that *is* the norm in Europe. Though for NFC it felt like half the attendees arrived by Monday and everyone else by Tuesday

After days of travel I've reached my destination: Barcelona Pavilion, a structure designed by Mies van der Rohe and raised in 1929 for the World Expo of that year. When I entered - the rush of blood to the head, the feeling of touching something celestial - walking out, I stepped into my 30s.

Praha, Wien, Venezia, Padova, Monza, Como, Locarno, Luzern, Bern, Chamonix, Paris, Montpellier, Barcelona.

Finished last week: about 3750km done in rather unimpressive 12 days of travelling, with two rules: only train travel allowed between towns, and no hurry.

The place where I touched the sky and my eyes shimmered with tears

I'm still unpacking mentally after the trip. It's been a long and intense one and coming back wasn't easy. I hope to get to writing a few sentences about it soon, maybe publish it as a blog post!

Ahh! I'm glad you reached for it :3 I'm finishing it slowly, lasted me for most of the trip, but there's so much in it, and a lot of it not easily accessible

Day 4: Monza.

A town modern and with an industrial feel, but still cosy and green. And with one of the nicest parks I've ever been to.

Day 3: still Venezia in the morning. In Caffe Brasilia the owner passed me un caffè (espresso - implicitly) smiling and I drank it at the bar, feeling like a part of the family.

Then, my favourite town in the whole of the country: Padova. Local and cosmopolitan, true and extravagant.
