i remember when the poster was like "watch a movie, it's better than video games" and before that it was "read a book, it's better than watching movies". i agree that doomscrolling is terrible, but the trend "seems" to keep going downhill 🤔 can't be a coincidence

there are a lot of artists i admire, but the ones that actually influenced the way my work LOOKS: bernie fuchs, tadahiro uesugi for composition, im really drawn to unconventional compositions where focal points are shoved to the edges, tangents, anything where in theory it doesnt work but it does :)

personally I'm very into narration that's dynamic and feels realistic. like listening to someone talk, with tunes and emotions fluctuating through the sentences. and my least favourite is when the narration is singsong-y in a repetitive way.
how much i like the book would depend on how much i enjoy the narration... sometimes a story that i would've dropped became a 4.5 stars, while i end up dnf-ing a potentially good story just because i dislike the narrating direction (subjective)
