I loved the original version despite its issues and didn't feel it necessarily needed to be "fixed," but this is definitely a better version that I think more people will enjoy. Feels like they took some notes from Mario Odyssey on modernizing the collectathon platformer.

Putting aside the bad first impression of the Switch 2 version, Yooka-Replaylee was great once I switched to PS5. Just beat it and cleaned up the last few trophies. It was hard to put down. "Just one more pagie... just one more pagie... just one more... oh god it's 5 am"

And they all failed, so Disney just said screw it and bought Marvel and Star Wars.

Though it should be noted that Legacy didn't actually bomb. It performed comparably to the first Thor on a similar budget. It was profitable. Just not the foundation for the next Star Wars like Disney was hoping.

Though for why Tron Legacy was made, it's because Disney really wanted more live action PG-13 franchises. PotC was a huge success and it was based on a theme park ride, so they just tried any IP they could think of. John Carter, The Lone Ranger, Prince of Persia, Sorcerer's Apprentice, Nutcracker...

Tron somehow had a cultural impact disproportionate to the number of people who actually watched it. Lightcycles and the dark computer world with neon lights were iconic, even if you hadn't seen the movie. Like I remember a ton of hype when Kingdom Hearts 2 revealed the Tron world.

I was a bit disappointed at no Bruce Boxleitner, and Sam and Quorra were only mentioned with the implication that their story may be continued in a sequel. But given the box office history of the series, that's probably not happening.

Tron Ares continues the series tradition of having characters and story you only halfway care about but also showing you the coolest shit you've ever seen set to an all-timer soundtrack.

Legacy is one of my favorite movies ever so I got pretty much what I expected and enjoyed it.

Wow, Yooka-Replaylee runs like garbage on Switch 2, AND they mapped jump to the wrong button with no option to fix it. Fastest I've ever uninstalled a game I was looking forward to.

Playing Mario Galaxy now that I have game dev experience is interesting, because all the technical stuff that blew me away back then isn't impressive now that I know how to do it - but the game design is even MORE impressive now that I know how easily they could've screwed that up.

Trump is the perfect figurehead for them because he's a guy who never matured beyond the high school bully mentality and has only ever been rewarded for it.

Seems like the entire party consists of people who peaked as high school bullies and are mad that they haven't been similarly rewarded for being cruel adults, and people who were bullied in high school and vowed to one day become the bully.

A 'Not Recommended' Steam review with 4 hours played

Review text reads: It's a decent idea for a game where you flip a coin and depending on your percentage chances you get heads or tails. However the odds are a lie. You will flip tails 100 percent more than you will heads no matter what your percentage is. Even when you get it up to 60% you will still flip tails way more often then you will heads.

The Dev can try to defend it, but when I flip the coin 2500 times and only hit heads a third of the time even when at 60% then the odds are broken or a lie. I've also watched gameplay and seen fellow players have the same flips so I know it isn't just me having bad luck.

Still not bad for $2, but I'm saying no because the game is coded against you instead of it being fully on chance and luck.
