Here’s what you need to know about my hometown: while neighboring towns have held pride rallies, my town hosts a Charlie K rally (and has never held a pride rally).

Oh you Mennonites!

It occurred to me this morning that Mennonite’s beloved “Will you let me be your servant” is a huge power play. It basically says “I am powerful and in control and let me display my virtue by helping poor decrepit you”.

In a few weeks I move from being a Community Liaison at PVLIP to being Executive Director of 500 Stephen Community Centre in Morden. It is a return to my favourite work of providing a place of hospitality.

Good southern Manitoba people, there are less than two days left to show your love to our South Central Regional Library and purchase some raffle tickets for some great prizes. The money raised will be used for special projects at each of the 5 branches. www.fundingchange.ca/scrl/Z7ztMtU...

If I was king of the world I would outlaw presenters reading the slides and all use of presentation bullet points.

My Russian Mennonite brothers and sisters need to let go of our default of distrust. Through theology & history we’ve formed a deep distrust of “the world” as if we are separate from it. Distrust of government, education, vaccines, and outsiders reveals an incredibly cynical view all God’s children.

Hey southern Manitoba folks, don’t miss your chance to support our South Central Regional Library and win great prizes by purchasing some raffle tickets. www.fundingchange.ca/scrl/Z7ztMtU...

I was a US green card holder for 20+ years, and then came the first Trump presidency and I (and several other long-time green card holders) decided to become a US citizen because things felt so uncertain. I can’t imagine what it feels like now. (I’ve since returned to Canada.)

Cancel the Canada-US Safe Third Country Agreement! There is no way the US can still be considered a safe country.

I guess I was just naive but I really didn’t expect things to get so blatantly and abundantly evil.
