Intermittent snow at times heavy over western half of Maritimes just moving into HFX at 8am. The pics show that the heaviest steady snow (dark blue) over NS tonight.
Snow at times heavy over eastern areas in onshore north winds off Gulf on Thursday.
Next potential storm Monday night.

An intense storm is bringing snow to the Carolinas coast. This storm passes just south of Sable Is overnight then south of NL Monday. Heavy snow & strong winds (outages?) over mostly the Ern half of NS tonight & early Monday. Halifax on the edge (pics); prepare for the worst but hope for the best.

Snow from a Nor'easter moves onshore Atlantic coast NS late aftn-early evening Sunday. The slight shift in model track continues this am.. adding to the snowfall uncertainty. Pretty typical.
Nevertheless much of NS & PEI wake up Monday am to snow & blowing snow, strong NE winds and cancellations.

Snowstorm Sunday night with strong NE winds. Still too early for snowfall details, but heaviest snow likely Atlantic coast of Mainland NS and over Cape Breton.

Fine Saturday. Still high probability of a snowstorm starting Sunday afternoon in SW NS with heavy snow Sunday night. Snow eases off with blowing snow and strong winds persisting Monday. 25+cm S Maritimes??!!

Snow has tapered off over all but CB early this am. My total is now over 20cm; will share CoCoRaHS reports when they arrive.
Just onshore flurries SW NS this aftn; with onshore snow heavier in NW wilds off Gulf. Brief sunny breaks elsewhere.
Next storm will be late Sunday into Groundhog Day Monday!

7am: just measured 13cm new snow. The snow has eased off briefly here & to the SW;. but will reintensify again this aftn. Snow & blowing snow persisting thru tonight then tapering to flurries from west to east Tuesday. Still onshore snow & blowing snow however.
I expect a total of 30cm my place.

Fine start then patchy rain-snow mix this aftn turns to snow at times heavy tonight. Heaviest over NS and E PEI (15-30cm). Snow & gusty winds gradually ease off Monday morning. Sticky snow hard to shovel (but good for building a snowman).
Expect cancellations & delays.

6am: snow reaching SW edges of NS-NB. Snow & icy freezing rain moves east reaching Freddy before lunch then HFX after lunch. The icy weather moves over eastern Maritimes this eve, changing to rain tonight (pics).
Rain ends Tues am then bands of snow develop in colder west winds. Modify travel plans!

Fine today & Sunday. The chilly NW winds trigger onshore snow, heaviest in Inverness County that gradually eases off.
Messy Monday as snow & freezing rain develop over the west in the am spreading eastward during the day. The wintry mix changes to rain Monday night.

5-10cm snow spreads across NS, PEI & SE NB later aftn & tonight. Snow wet at first (move slush before turns cold tonight!). Snow persists north shores Monday am: totalling 15-20cm (maybe 30cm high terrain).
