Intresting subplot with R5 of #ALW

To ask for a postponement you need to 4 players missing for international duty.

Canberra will be without, Anton, Heyman, Bertolissio… all key players.

Sydney are without, Caspers, Halmarick, Fante, Cassar, Sullivan.

Only Caspers is an automatic starter.

I think Victory vs Perth Glory might be the only #ALW game not massively compromised by the international window.

Poppy O’Keeffe is the only player from either senior team who has been called into national team camp.

A bit worrying that national team staff didn’t have any say in a player pulling out of a camp.

What instead of playing an aging defender in midfield for Australia we used the ones like Laura Hughes?
November 19, 2025 at 10:48 PM
Capped Matilda and one of the best midfielders in the #ALW Laura Hughes has been called up by Cymru

'There will be deaths'

That's the fear of a youth worker thinking about the consequences of Australia's teen social media ban.

I wrote about their concerns for their clients, some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged teens, and about their ability to work with them.

The 2 changes if make to the latest #Matildas squad is Kennedy out for Nash and Yallop out for either Gomez or Teesh McKenna.

I think being the player of the tournament in the U24’s should’ve earned Holly Furphy at least a training run

The Socceroos 2005 documentary on P+ is instructive as well as nostalgic.

A few senior, high profile players mention how Hiddink was intent on not letting them get complacent about their places in the squad, and the impact that made.

Feels like there’s a lesson in that for the #Matildas too

I genuinely believe that the #ALW has far more commercial and sporting potential than the ALM.

The men’s has about as much chance of a return to the glory days as Ska music.

Almost all people who run the sport are only capable of seeing it through the lens of a men’s game foremost.
a new #ALeagueWomen report released today has some shocking stats, including that over half the league experienced sport-related psychological distress in the 2024-25 season. the PFA is urgently requesting change as the league slips further behind.
