Ocean Vuong's The Emperor of Gladness is probably one of the saddest books I have ever read (as in bleak, melancholy, I couldn't read more than 50 pages in one go because it was too overwhelmingly sad)

Having one of those "I cannot write a phd" at all moments. Got feedback from my supervisor which is equally constructive as it is confusing + trying to write out a whole new angle and not able to figure out a structure/direction to take.

And in today's reading of Tudor's "Decolonizing Trans/Gender Studies?" (2021): "In my view, any decolonization must bridge diaspora approaches with approaches from the global South, connect indigenous studies with migration studies, and question the paradigm of the nation-state" (p. 250).

Talking over my PhD with friends and fellow PhD trial and errors is the best way to move forward for me. It's a pingpong dance of realisations and affirmations.
