Oh, man, I used to study Tom Robbins' writing techniques very carefully. Never could master them, but what I learned helped my own copywriting career tremendously.

In 1983 Reagan watched The Day After, a TV movie about nuclear war. ‘Greatly depressed’ the previously hawkish President reached out to Gorbachev. Both realised the arms race was madness. The result was a reduction in nuclear warheads from 70k-12.5k. Stories can save the world.

I love this book so much! Jenny Lawson is hands down the funniest writer I've ever read.
