The announcement of a new Battleship and Frigate class for the Navy looks about as haphazard and ill-conceived as it's possible to be w/ every indication that the Navy is fast declining against the rising power of China.

No, the fact that the US North East is entirely blue doesn't excuse the Texas Gerrymander. The two aren't really comparable at all.

Unemployment is up, wages are down, the stock-market is flat since October, and inflation is rising but we're gonna rename the Kennedy Center (which is also the national memorial to President Kennedy) to the "Kennedy-Trump" center and ban transgender kids from getting the care they need. 🇺🇸🙄

The Texas Gerrymander may well be a dummymander. With Dems outperforming 2024 by ~15 points, there is an real chance that Texas Republicans are cutting their own throats by redrawing districts.

Comparison of the 2025 Virginia governor's race to the 2021 race.

After years of being irritated with election data visualizations I decided to make my own. This shows the importance of towns and cities on the Virginia 2025 governor's race.

If you know the steps to The Macarena your outrage about Bad Bunny is bullshit. And if you don't know the steps to The Macarena your opinions about pop culture are irrelevant.

This is the kind of messaging Democrats need on this issue. Red-state America, your health insurance premiums are going to TRIPLE if Republicans get their way.

The only Democrat who should be worried about the political ramifications of shutting down the government is @abigailspanberger.com .

The rest? The base is ready to burn it down and anyone who'll drink the Trump Kool-Aid is already in the tank for him anyway.

Seems like Democrats and the left might be owed an apology.

Utah allows campus carry of firearms.

Can someone explain to me why all the good guys with guns failed to keep Kirk safe?

Once there was a kingdom beset by a dragon. Every year the dragon demanded 20,000 victims to feast upon and every year the kingdom gave them over.

The kingdom could have driven the dragon away but the Dragon Priests said the 20,000 deaths were worth it because the dragon worried the king.

Now Trump is calling for Iran's "unconditional surrender?" Jesus Christ....

This is what Germany and Japan looked like before "unconditional surrender" was on the table.
June 18, 2025 at 4:46 AM
At this point it might be simpler to ask who in Iran ISN'T working for Mossad?

I get that there are serious political and religious considerations here, but has anyone stopped to ask what the papacy of Pope Leo XIV means to the Deep Dish vs Thin Crust debate?

Because there's guy from the South Side who can speak Ex Cathedra on this issue now.

In 2024 there were 525 billion reasons for the US and China to avoid war with each other. Trump's tariffs make it likely that, by summer, there will be none.

This isn't just a trade-war. It's a prelude to a shooting war. Trump's tariffs make a Chinese move on Taiwan more likely.

Let's talk about how profoundly stupid these tariff rates are. Not how profoundly stupid tariffs are -- there are literally whole undergraduate majors in that -- just the rates.
