#42 Mind Body Spirit

We all expect people in horror films to do stupid things. This movie takes the stupid to a point that it's unbelievable. I had a hard time getting beyond how brainless the lead was. It was distracting.

I know this movie hasn't been everyone's cup of tea but I actually really dug it. Mostly because Marlon Wayans absolutely killed it. He is phenomenal in this.

All summer long I heard my tweens sing songs & every time I asked what, they would yell #KPOPDEMONHUNTERS! I finally watched & it's hella fun. The music is catchy, the story is good. Officially mark me a fangirl.

A family's flat tire on a barren stretch of road with only a diner dotting the landscape, leads them to Granny the old woman who runs the establishment.

I liked this better when it was House of 1000 Corpses.

#47 Dead Sea (2024)

Unfortunately, I saw this after Dangerous Animals because there are some similar concepts and I think Dangerous Animals does it better, but it was still a solidly entertaining movie.

It's like cocaine bear with crocodiles. And less humor.

#49 The Long Walk

This movie devastated me. It should not work and yet it 100% does. Flawlessly executed. Brilliant performances. Alarmingly topical. I don't see a world where this doesn't make my Top 10 of the year.

#50 Here After

Honestly, the only thing that kept this from feeling like a Lifetime movie was the cast. It had potential, all the actors are excellent, but the story devolved into cliched tropes.
