Speed reader and ready to give unsolicited book suggestions always. The library is my happy place but as long as I have a book in hand anywhere will do.
#LibFaves25 Today my pick is all emotion. Like raging teenage hormones you will laugh and sob in the same breath while reading WRECK by Catherine Newman. The next stage of a family when drama strikes- a simple story beautifully written.

#LibFaves25 Today I will rave about WILD DARK SHORE by Charlotte McConaghy. A cold dark tale of chaos. A woman comes to Antarctica to find her husband and instead finds a family of caretakers and so many secrets. Wild, mysterious and cautionary all in one.

#LibFaves25 Today's pick is historical fiction with a touch of magic in the water. THE LISTENERS by Maggie Stiefvater shows us the inner workings of a resort hotel in West Virginia in 1942 where the female manager must deal with the government taking it over to house German POWs. Magic!

Day 5 of #LibFaves25 and my pick is hard to put into a set genre. DEATH OF AN AUTHOR by Nnedi Okorafor is a story within a story - an author who is transformed by a prosthetic and the book she writes about a lonely robot. It makes you think and entertained at the same time. Gorgeous writing.

#LibFaves25 Day four brings me to a riveting story. A GUARDIAN AND A THIEF by Megha Majurndar takes us to India
where a woman is desperate to obtain a visa for her family to escape meets a young boy desperate to save his family. Powerful and one that stays with you.

#LibFaves25 Day three so here's pure fun. I listened to the magical audio which gave me much needed escape and laughs. BRIGANDS AND BREADKNIVES by Travis Baldree features mythical creatures caught in very human emotions. A journey, an adventure, a fork in life's road - well worth the trip.

#LibFaves25 Day two is MY FRIENDS by Fredrik Backman. I have been a fan of his since his first book and this one hit me to the core. An artist, his painting and the young girl it impacts as well as the friends he leaves behind. This is a beautiful exploration of friendship, loyalty and love.

#LibFaves25 First on the list BURY OUR BONES IN THE MIDNIGHT SOIL by V.E. Schwab. Classic multi generational vampire tale with a lesbian twist. Perfect for readers of Anne Rice.

#ewgc EVIL GENIUS is up next for me. Die for love or kill for love? Only Celia and her gun know which path is best.

#ewgc Currently listening to WHEN I KILL YOU the next super thriller from B.A. Paris. A woman's stalking led to disaster and now she is being stalked. You keep trying to guess who is behind the bushes! Great audio but not if you are home alone!

#ewgc I am a sucker for female pirates so THE DETERMINED was on the top of my list. Two famous female pirates share their story from prison. Sailing the seas was not all it was cracked up to be especially for a woman. @kensington-library.bsky.social

#ewgc Just finished and loved THE POHAKU. Fantastic historical fiction of old Hawaii and pre-Gold Rush California ending in a grandmother unwilling to let go of old customs.
Atmospheric writing that covers ancient customs being forgotten in favor of new religion. @librarylovefest

#ewgc Sorry I am late to the party but life gets in the way!
CHERRY BABY has captured my attention. Wayward husband uses his wife as the main character in his book/movie. He goes west and she needs to break free. @librarylovefest.bsky.social

#ewgc Last but not least is CANTICLE. A girl runs from marriage to join a rebellious order of women in 1300 Bruge. Of course she and they are in danger from the wrath of the church. Fascinating women and the birth or death of a potential saint.

#ewgc Really enjoying Paula McClain's SKYLARK. A dual timeline of Paris in the 1600's where a rebellious woman longs to become a dyer and a young doctor in 1939 helps Jewish families. Both feature the hidden tunnels of Paris. @simonandschuster.bsky.social

#ewgc Twisty thrillers! ANATOMY OF AN ALIBI where two women try to get the goods on a murdered man- find the killer or get the blame. DARKROOMS is an unsolved missing girl and the two women years later who need to solve the mystery. @prhlibrary.bsky.social @librarylovefest.bsky.social
