Cease wasn’t my first choice, but I certainly wouldn’t have complained if he ended up being the guy. My concern is the market has now been set & we have a penny pinching GM. As Andrew Friedman says, “if you’re rational about every free agent, you’ll never sign any of them.” PAY UP, MIKE.

The Orioles are hiring former Padres manager Mike Shildt as their upper level minor league coordinator of instruction, source confirms. And Samuel Vega is the lower level coordinator.

Wonder if there’s a there there around Cade Povich and Tyler O’Neill (+ $$) for Mitch Keller.
Cade goes right into Keller’s spot in the rotation, O’Neill gives them a RH power bat (albeit one with some ?), and paying down some of O’Neill’s salary and moving Keller’s clears some space for a FA bat.
